How solar developers can respect property ownership rights while providing benefits to host communities
Chuyan Cheng is a Sr. Analyst with the Power Marketing & Analytics team. Her work is focused on offtaker proposals and energy market research.
Previously, Chuyan was a graduate consultant working with the DC Department of Energy and Environment, where she reviewed federal and state-level solar policies and provided solutions to facilitate the decarbonization process. She additionally worked at research institutions as a research assistant, conducting policy analyses on emerging technologies and nuclear security.
Chuyan graduated from Johns Hopkins SAIS with a Master’s in International Economics and Energy, Resources, and Environment. In her spare time, Chuyan enjoys yoga and live music.
Timothy Groszkowski
Tim Groszkowski is an Associate with the Project Development team. He leads all aspects of managing the development process of solar PV projects up to the start of construction, from site acquisition to securing discretionary state and local permits.
Prior to joining ibV Energy, Tim was a real estate professional and former small business owner, having owned several successful retail businesses across northern Virginia.
Tim earned his Bachelor’s from George Mason University with a concentration in Sustainability and Energy Resources Studies. In his spare time, Tim enjoys traveling, the beach, skiing, and spending time with family and friends.
Jackson Leesnitzer
Jack Leesnitzer is a Manager with the Planning & Engineering team. His work includes high-voltage scope project management, solar site layouts, yield forecasting, equipment procurement and M&A engineering support.
Previously, Jack held roles in project management, power delivery, structural, and site civil engineering. In these positions, he was responsible for grid expansion EPC projects, as well as greenfield and brownfield site development.
Jack graduated from UNC Charlotte with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He is based out of Charlotte, NC where he enjoys soccer, playing live music, and traveling with his friends and family.
Robert Kellam, CFA
Robert Kellam is the Manager on the Corporate Finance and Investments team. His work is focused on providing valuation/commercial guidance through the project development process, as well as leading M&A initiatives and managing funding across the Company’s portfolio.
Previously, Robert worked several years at a professional valuation services firm, where he performed numerous valuations of operating businesses in multiple sectors, private equity and venture capital vehicles, real estate investment entities, and private debt investments.
Robert graduated from the University of Virginia with a BS in Commerce with concentrations in Finance and Accounting. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute. In his spare time he enjoys biking and trivia.
Steven Link
Steven Link is a Senior Manager with the Project Development Team. His work is focused on the Midwest, PJM and ERCOT regions and include site identification, permitting, community relations and civic engagement.
Previously, Steven was a senior developer responsible for the front end development of projects in MISO, PJM and several RTO markets, where he specialized in landowner and local official engagements.
A Florida transplant from Alaska, Steve graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. In his spare time he is an avid fisherman and is out fishing with his family at every opportunity.
Wesley Smith
Wesley Smith is a Manager with the Project Development team. His work is focused on the MISO and PJM regions and include site identification, permitting, community relations and civic engagement.
Previously, Wes was a manufacturing supervisor at Grammer Americas, where he oversaw the production and quality of the midnight shift.
An Ohio native, Wes was a Sergeant in the United States Army. He is OSHA safety certified and has taken classes at Tiffin University. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching his son’s football, basketball, and baseball teams.
Steven Estoclet
Steve Estoclet is a Manager with the Power Marketing & Analytics team. His work is focused on project modeling, pricing, M&A and market research across the Company’s portfolio.
Previously, Steve worked for a renewable load serving entity, where he worked on REC procurement and power purchasing, as well as on community solar development initiatives.
Steve graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Energy, Business, and Finance. He is an avid tennis player and resides in Washington, DC.
Eric Wedesky
Eric Wedesky is a Senior Manager in the Project Development team where he supervises project development, from site control and permitting to EPC handoff. Eric primarily oversees developments across PJM, MISO and SPP.
Eric initially began his career in the renewables industry with the Solar Provider Group, a development shop based in Toronto, Canada. There, he focused on community solar and distributed generation (DG) projects. Prior, he had an award-winning tenure as an economic and community developer at Michigan’s Eastern Upper Peninsula Regional Planning & Development Commission.
Eric is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Urban & Regional Planning from Michigan State University. His passions include anything to do with the great outdoors and the misery one gets from local sports.
AJ Thweatt
AJ is an Analyst within the Project Development team. His work is focused in the MISO region and specializes in site identification and development.
Previously, AJ had extensive background in business and commercial construction management, being part of the management team for new ground up commercial construction projects in Michigan.
He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business management from Northwood University. In his spare time, AJ enjoys sports, live music, and perfecting the art of smoking meat.
Matthew Chester
Matt Chester is the Communications Manager for the Company, focusing on strategic messaging and brand awareness. In collaboration with our talented staff, he leads the writing of thought pieces, many of which are placed in professional trade journals across the energy space.
Matt has over 15 years of experience in analyzing US energy policy, including writing on state and federal policies and its impacts on the renewables industry.
A graduate of the University of Virginia, he received his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Civil Engineering and Science & Technology Policy. Matt is passionate about the evolution of new energy technology and is also a writer for Energy Central.
Joseph Perez
Joseph Perez is a Senior Manager with the Power Marketing & Analytics team. His team focuses on market fundamentals that include price forecasting, nodal studies, basis risk, and production cost modeling of utility-scale renewable projects.
Prior to joining ibV Energy, Joe was a generation planner with American Electric Power, where he specialized in long-term capacity expansion planning. Additionally, he has experience submitting testimony and serving as a company witness in regulatory proceedings.
An Ohio native, Joe holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a Master of Financial Economics from Ohio University.
Alexander Gregory
Alex Gregory oversees EPC operations and community relations for the Company. His impact spans project design and implementation supported by his expertise in contract management, cost estimation and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) supervision.
Alex has led project management for several of the largest EPC arms across the east coast, with over 500 MW of installed capacity. Vice-Chair of his hometown planning and zoning board in Orange Co., he also leads the Community Relations division.
Alex is an North Carolina native, OSHA 30 and NABCEP certified, and a licensed Real Estate Broker. In his free time he is an avid golfer and backcountry snowboarder.
Clark Rein
Clark Rein is a Manager in the Project Development team directing developments in the SPP and WECC markets.
Previously, Clark worked as a project manager and environmental permitting expert at TRC, responsible for solving complex environmental and permitting issues on behalf of renewables, oil and gas, mining, and brownfields project development clients. Previous to that, he was an Environmental Scientist at CH2M Hill.
A Tennessee native, Clark moved to Texas and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Forest Wildlife Management and a Master’s in Environmental Science and Aquatic Biology. In his spare time, Clark enjoys hunting, fly fishing, kayaking, and hiking with his family.
Sudipto Bhowmik, PhD
Sudipto Bhowmik is the Senior Director of Grid Integration where he leads all transmission-based activities for the Company. He is the primary relationship manager to utility grid teams and ISO/TOs. Under his supervision, the Company has queued multi GWs of new projects across the majority of major ISOs and bilateral markets.
Previously, Sudipto led transmission systems analysis at Burns & McDonnell and Nexant. He has worked on transmission systems planning across North America, Europe and Africa.
He received his Bachelor’s in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from RV College of Engineering (Bangalore) and his Master’s and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University. When not engaged in grid analysis, he can be found in the hottest salsa clubs across the US southwest.
Nathan Coleman
Nathan is the Director of Land Acquisitions and brings 17 years of land acquisition experience. His work cuts across all of the Company’s markets and includes leasing and purchasing property, site identification, community relations and civic engagement.
Previously, Nathan worked in the coal mining industry, purchasing and leasing properties for mining extraction and reclamation.
A Kentucky native, he graduated from BSCTC, majoring in Industrial Electronics and is a certified drone pilot. Nathan enjoys hiking, geology, coaching his kids’ sports teams and volunteering with the Boy Scouts.
Nathan Donnelly
Nathan Donnelly is an Analyst with the Project Development team. His work is focused on the Midwest and Western regions and includes site identification, permitting, community relations, and civic engagement.
Previously, Nathan was a Field Researcher in the commercial real estate industry, where he took part in project creation in multiple US cities, as well as in Australia.
A long-time Missouri resident, Nathan spent most of his time in competitive gymnastics growing up. After finishing in 6th place at the 2016 Trampoline Olympic Trials, he moved to NYC to start his Field Research career. He enjoys crossfit and actively competes in kettlebell sports.
Digvijay Kamthane
Digvijay (DJ) Kamthane is a Manager with the Planning & Engineering team. His work focuses on solar + storage project engineering and includes site evaluation, yield assessment, engineering optimization and procurement outreach.
Previously, DJ worked for TRC where he designed and reviewed code-compliant electrical design packages. He was actively involved across the residential, C&I, and utility-scale solar and storage space.
DJ graduated from Northeastern University Boston with a Master of Science in Energy Systems. He is OSHA certified and has secured a NABCEP PV Associate credential. In his spare time, he plays tennis and loves to spend time with friends and family.
Kyle Lewis
Kyle Lewis is a land acquisition specialist where he focuses on the TVA, GA and ERCOT regions. His work includes site identification, lease negotiations and right of way acquisitions.
Previously, Kyle was a human intelligence specialist in the U.S. Army, where he identified potential sources, conducted debriefings, and created intelligence reports that influenced high level decision making.
Kyle was born in Southern California and raised in Las Vegas. He holds certifications from the U.S. Army Human Intelligence Course and graduated from the Defense Language Institute with language certifications in French. In his spare time, Kyle enjoys fantasy sports, and watching big budget films and TV shows.
Henry Peltz, CFA
Henry Peltz is Manager of Corporate Finance & Investments. His work focuses on evaluating new investment opportunities, managing project financials, overseeing portfolio and corporate cash flows, and leading M&A and other transactional processes.
Previously, Henry was a Financial Analyst at Enviva Biomass, where he led FP&A and Corporate Finance activities for the world’s largest manufacturer of industrial wood pellets. He also worked in valuations and management consulting roles in the past.
Originally from New York, Henry graduated from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce, with a Bachelor’s in Analytics. He is also a CFA Charterholder. In his free time, Henry enjoys hiking, running, and cooking.
Patrick Ripa, PE
Patrick Ripa is a Manager with the Planning and Engineering team. His work is focused on both early and late-stage development for permitting, constructability, site layouts, and environmental constraints. Pat is a licensed civil engineer in multiple states.
Previously, Pat was a consultant with Langan Engineering, where he designed and permitted land development projects in many industries, ranging from industrial to residential developments. He has several years of solar development experience, mainly on the east coast.
Pat resides in Salt Lake City, Utah and is a graduate of Clarkson University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He enjoys being outdoors on the golf course and skiing.
Aman Sharma
Aman Sharma is a Manager of Grid Integration. His work is focused on interconnection activities for full lifecycle of solar + storage projects in MISO, PJM, SPP, WECC and ERCOT regions.
Previously, Aman was a senior consultant at Guidehouse working on interconnection studies, investment analysis and research for utilities across the US. Aman also worked with Black & Veatch and Siemens in the past.
Based out of India, Aman graduated from Arizona State University with an Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). In his spare time, he loves to read, workout, cook and travel.
Colin Wedesky
Colin Wedesky is an Analyst within the Project Development team. His work is focused in the MISO region and specializes in site identification and development.
Previously, Colin had an extensive background in business, both being part of and leading new venture teams in Michigan’s beverage industry.
In his spare time, Colin enjoys camping, hiking, and fishing. He also makes his own homemade wine, scouring most of his ingredients from local-Michigan farmers.
Olivia Benjamin
Olivia Benjamin is the Director of Financial & Corporate Operations. In this role, she is responsible for leading the team’s accounting, operational finance, and human resources initiatives.
Prior to joining ibV Energy, Olivia held various finance leadership roles across a number of industries including intellectual property, hospitality, and higher education; and has extensive experience overseeing financial operations, reporting, and auditing.
Olivia graduated from the University of Mary Washington with a Bachelor’s in Classics & Latin, an MBA from Florida Tech, and an MA in Economics from American University. In her spare time, Olivia enjoys baking, tennis, and touring vineyards.
